Gladstone Braves post high school softrball twinbill sweep of Marquette

MARQUETTE — Marquette pitchers Lyndsey Lake and Cece Fuller were roughed up a bit in a high school softball doubleheader that Gladstone swept on Tuesday afternoon.

The Braves posted 15-2 and 16-1 victories with several big innings.

Lake pitched the opener, giving up 15 runs on 15 hits as she walked two and struck out one. Fuller was on the rubber in the nightcap, allowing 16 runs on 18 hits as she fanned three.

In the opener, Gladstone scored six runs in the fifth after scoring three in each of the first three innings, while in Game 2, the Braves put across nine runs in the third.

Jayden Raymond led MSHS hitters in the opener, going 2 of 3, while Fuller and teammates Ady Trapani and Halle Haynes each had singles.

In the nightcap, Fuller, Trapani and Keira Lindberg each had singles for the Redettes.
