Northern Michigan University alpine skiers headed to Wisconsin this weekend

MARQUETTE — The NMU alpine ski team will compete in Wisconsin’s La Crosse County this weekend at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association meet at Mount La Crosse.

The meet will be held Saturday and Sunday.

Last time out for these Wildcats men’s and women’s teams, they were at Wild Mountain in Minnesota on Jan. 7-8 for the opening meet of the season and both NMU teams won team titles over St. Olaf and Minnesota-Duluth.

Reagan Olli won the women’s slalom, Brad Seaborg the men’s giant slalom and Aaron Grzelak the men’s slalom with other teammates picking up numerous finishes in the top 10.

Those other finishes included Seaborg runner-up and Andrew Truman third in the men’s slalom, Ainsley Kirk third in the women’s GS, Truman fourth in the men’s GS and Ella Wichert fourth in the women’s slalom.

Grzelak and Seaborg are Marquette Senior High School graduates.
