MARQUETTE — The Marquette Senior High School boys soccer team improved to 14-2-1 this season after blanking Iron Mountain 6-0 at the Kaufman Sports Complex in Marquette on Tuesday.

Seniors Ezra Pickard and Max Dawson scored two goals apiece as both scored a goal in each half.

Pickard added an assist, too.

MSHS goalkeeper Edan Hautamaki was credited with the shutout as he faced two shots each half.

Sophomore Kaleb Chipelewski opened the scoring with an assist from fellow sophomore Henry Wood. Then Dawson scored on a corner kick with Pickard assisting, while the Redmen made it 3-0 at halftime following Pickard’s first goal assisted by senior Evan Sysko.

In the second half, Dawson scored with an assist from junior Isaac Johnson, then Johnson got his own goal assisted by Pickard before Pickard rounded out the scoring unassisted on a corner kick.

Marquette travels to play at Kingsford at 6 p.m. EDT today.
