Superior Central girls softball team bounces back but still swept by Norway
NORWAY — Superior Central found their hitting shoes sitting at the bottom of the equipment bag in time for a 10-run output in the second game of their high school softball doubleheader at Norway on Friday.
But it wasn’t enough to avert the Knights from sweeping the doubleheader, 13-0 and 16-10.
Individual numbers on batters and pitchers weren’t available for the Cougars, though it was known they were only outhit 13-12 in Game 2. In the opener, Norway junior Kali Stanchina twirled a one-hitter over Game 1’s five innings, also only walking one as she struck out eight.
In the nightcap, SC led 2-1 after one inning and was tied 3-3 after two before the Knights erupted for six runs in the third.
