HERMANSVILLE — Jack McEvers had the lone hit as Manistique lost 11-0 in a five innings in a high school baseball game played at North Central on Thursday.

Jude Way took the pitching loss, allowing five runs on three hits in one inning.

Ian Gorzinski pitched a one-hitter for the Jets, striking out 11 and walking four. Wyatt Riley collected three hits and Wyatt Raab had two as NC had nine hits total and stole seven bases.

“We are a young team like Manistique, but we’ve been able to lean on a couple seniors like Wyatt (Riley) and Ian which certainly helps,” NC coach Jason Mercier said. “It’s just our first win, but something to build on.”
