Negaunee defensemen Luke Syrjala, center, is sandwiched between Jeffers’ Kyle Heltunen and Caden Hillstrom as he skates toward the net in the first period of a high school hockey game played at the Negaunee Ice Arena on Tuesday. The visiting Jets broke a scoreless tie when Keegan Rajala snagged the twine 1:19 into the third period, while teammate Cooper Burkman added an insurance goal later in the period for a 2-0 victory. Miners goalies Ryan Kerkela and Patrick Klumpp combined to make 30 saves, including all 20 taken by Jeffers during the first two periods.
