Marquette Redettes volleyball survives 5-setter over Rudyard to improve to 3-0

MARQUETTE — Seiler Hruska was a stats-sheet filler and it may have been what Marquette needed in a five-set high school volleyball victory over visiting Rudyard on Thursday night.

The Redettes came from behind twice before prevailing 20-25, 25-14, 12-25, 25-19, 15-10 to improve to 3-0 after this nonconference matchup.

“Rudyard was a tough team and (Thursday) was a fun match,” MSHS head coach Ann Crandell-Williams said. “Seiler Hruska’s offensive power and our team’s tough and consistent serving are what pulled us through this match.”

Hruska made 27 of the Redettes’ 39 kills, putting up a solid attacking percentage of .438 with just six errors. She added a team-high 14 digs while making five service aces.

Teammate Maria Millado made seven kills without an error for a .467 attack percentage, adding six aces, eight digs and five blocks, four of the blocks solo.
