MARQUETTE — Marquette showed what a well balanced girls basketball team it had as the Great Northern Conference champion Redettes didn’t win any of the league’s major awards.

But what they lacked at the top they made up for in quantity as five players gathered up a half-dozen awards.

They were led by senior Aspen Michelin, who earned both First Team and Defensive Team honors.

Fellow senior Maddie Carter and sophomore teammate Maria Millado made the Second Team, while two more senior MSHS players, Reegan Ketzenberger and Sofia van den Ende, got on the honorable mention list.

Menominee junior Emma Anderson earned the GNC Player of the Year honor, Kingsford senior Brooke Kriegl the Defensive Player of the Year nod and Menominee’s Lucas Chouinard the Coach of the Year award.
