DOLLAR BAY — Tailyn Raisanen scored 13 of her team-high 19 points in the second half but it wasn’t quite enough as the Republic-Michigamme girls basketball team fell 49-45 at Dollar Bay on Monday night.

The Blue Bolts jumped out to leads of 13-8 after one quarter and 30-21 at halftime, then held off the Hawks in the second half.

R-M did get within 41-36 through three quarters but could only add nine more points in the fourth.

Allie Radcliffe added 14 points for the Hawks as both she and Raisanen hit a 3-pointer. Teammate Leah McCracken scored eight points to account for all but four of R-M’s points.

DB’s Ashlea Datto led all scorers with 20 points, including a 3-pointer in each of the first three quarters, as Tatiana Reyes-Luoma added nine and Molly Myllyoja eight.

In a close game like this, free throws helped the Blue Bolts as they made 6 of 7 while R-M was good on just 3 of 8.

The Hawks complete their regular season by hosting Baraga on Thursday.
