Marquette’s Haddie Ketzenberger, Negaunee’s May Waters top all-around performances at Marquette Invite gymnastics

MARQUETTE — Escanaba pulled out a five-point win over runner-up Marquette as Negaunee finished third at the Marquette Invitational gymnastics meet held Friday.

Led by Abbie Derouin, the Eskymos scored 120.70 points, while the Redettes had 115.30 and the Miners 106.45.

Marquette junior Haddie Ketzenberger won the all-around with 35.00 points, winning the floor with 9.0 and beam with 9.6. She was also third in vault with 8.7.

Negaunee senior May Waters was second in all-around with 33.2 as she was second on floor with 8.7 and bars with 8.6, though that actually tied for the top score.

Derouin was third all-around with 32.7. She won bars with 8.6, was second on vault with 8.8 and third in floor with 8.3. The other apparatus winner Friday was Escanaba’s Maddy Block, who won the vault with 9.0.

Other top-three finishes included Marquette freshman Grace Henning, second on the beam with 7.95; Marquette junior Julia King, third on the beam with 7.75; and Escanaba’s Lizzy Silva, third on bars with 7.8.

The Redettes host Negaunee at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
