Kameron Karp hits game-winner for Marquette Redmen boys basketball team in 66-64 victory over Alpena
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Senior High School boys basketball team was in need of a good bounce-back game Saturday afternoon after falling to rival Negaunee Friday night in overtime on the road.
Through the third quarter against Alpena, it didn’t look like the Redmen would get a victory as they trailed the Wildcats after each quarter.
However, Marquette rallied in the fourth and Kameron Karp knocked down the game-winning triple at the buzzer to give the Redmen a 66-64 victory.
Ty Lotterman led Marquette with 19 points, while Karp had 16. Kelley Stark was Alpena’s scoring leader with 14 points.
Alpena led 22-18 after one quarter and 42-30 at the half. However, the Redmen gradually fought their way back into it as they cut the Wildcats’ advantage to just four at 52-48 by the end of the third quarter before completing the comeback in the fourth.
