Dome Dash 5K set for Sunday

MARQUETTE — The wonen’s cross country and track and field teams at Northern Michigan University will host their annual Dome Dash 5K on Sunday inside the Superior Dome.

Known as unique for Marquette and the Upper Peninsula, the event allows runners and walkers of all ages to race inside the world’s largest wooden dome.

It is also a fundraiser for those Wildcat sports programs with proceeds earmarked for travel and equipment expenses for upcoming seasons.

The Kids Run of one mile begins at 2 p.m. with the 5K at 2:30 p.m. Packet pickup commences at 1:30 p.m.

Cost is $30 for the 5K if preregistered or $35 the day of the event, with the Kids Run costing $15. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each race.
