MARQUETTE — Fans can have fun and get involved in the game in a different way on Saturday night when a teddy bear toss is scheduled during Northern Michigan University’s final hockey game before Christmas.
The toss will take place between the first and second periods of the 6 p.m. game against Minnesota State-Manakto.
Fans are encouraged to bring all kinds of stuffed toys and throw them on the ice at that time. Toys will be collected for The Mining Journal’s Cheer Club before going to The Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul for distribution to needy families at Christmas.
