Austin Killips, Josh Huotari pace Munising boys basketball team to victory
PICKFORD — Austin Killips and Josh Huotari reached double figures in scoring to lead Munising to a 57-47 high school boys basketball victory at Pickford on Saturday.
Killips scored 14 points, including three 3-pointers, while Huotari added 12 points as he went 6 of 8 at the free-throw line.
The Mustangs’ balanced scoring included four other players with at least six points — Jesse Duran had eight, Kane Nebel seven and Sam Brown and Caden Kienitz six apiece.
After establishing a 15-14 lead through one quarter, Munising erupted in the second for 21 points, taking a 36-20 halftime advantage.
The Panthers whittled its deficit to 10 points, 47-37, before each team pumped in 10 points in the final period.
Pickford’s Nicholas Edington led all scorers with 22 points.
Munising plays at North Dickinson on Monday.
