Alabama Crimson Tide football team drops to No. 9 in poll

(AP) – Alabama dropped to No. 9 in The Associated Press college football poll, snapping the Crimson Tide’s record streak of 68 appearances in the top five.

The top four teams in the AP Top 25 were unchanged, with LSU (12-0) at No. 1, followed by Ohio State (12-0), Clemson (12-0) and Georgia (11-1). Utah (11-1) moved up to No. 5, followed by Oklahoma (11-1), Florida (10-2) and Baylor (11-1).

Alabama passed the old record for consecutive top-five appearances of 55 by Miami (Oct. 8, 2000-Oct. 26, 2003) last season.

Wisconsin (10-2) moved up three spots to No. 10 after routing Minnesota (10-2). The Gophers dropped six spots to No. 15. Penn State (10-2) is 12th, Michigan (9-3) 17th and Iowa (9-3) 18th from the Big Ten, while Notre Dame (10-2) is 14th.
