8-man football finals, 11-man football semis in Superior Dome today, Saturday

MARQUETTE — Tickets cost $10 to watch both state championship games in 8-player football to be held at the Superior Dome in Marquette starting Saturday morning.

The finals have been held in the dome for the past several years, with the playoffs split into two divisions also over the past few years.

The games will be televised, but not live; instead, they will be first shown on Fox Sports Detroit — channel 33 on Charter Spectrum cable — on Tuesday evening.

The Division 1 championship between Suttons Bay (12-0) and Colon (12-0) will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday and televised at 8 p.m. Tuesday, while the Division 2 finale between Pickford (11-1) and Portland St. Patrick (12-0) will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday and televised at 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The Superior Dome is hosting an 11-player semifinal game at 7 p.m. today in Division 7 between Iron Mountain (12-0) and Pewamo-Westphalia (12-0), with the winner advancing to the state championship game at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Ford Field in Detroit.

Tickets for the Mountaineers’ game cost $8.

The 11-player state title games will be played and televised live on either Fox Sports Detroit or Fox Sports Detroit-Plus on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30, from Ford Field.
