Wildcats lacrosse makes Academic Honor Squad, 3 players make IWLCA Honor Roll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — Earlier this spring, the Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse team earned its first GLIAC road win as well as its first GLIAC Tournament berth.

The Wildcats haven’t finished earning achievements yet though as the team earned Academic Honor Squad status from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association and three players were named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.

Two of the honorees were now-graduated seniors in Tori Aidif and Megan Palacio. Aidif played in 32 games in her career and was a team captain last year, while Palacio appeared in 40 games, 10 of which game last year. She had a goal and an assist this spring.

The other award winner was then-junior Angelica Bogden. She’s played in 46 games and had five goals and four assists last year along with four ground balls and four forced turnovers.

To make the IWLCA Honor Roll, player must be at least a junior and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. For a team to earn a spot on the Honor Squad, it has to have a team GPA of 3.0 or greater for the academic year.
