Westwood ties for first place in boys golf meet

IRON MOUNTAIN — Kingsford and Westwood shared boys team honors Monday in a high school golf triangular at Pine Grove Country Club.

The Flivvers and Patriots each shot 201. Medalist Matt Solda shot a five-over-par 41 to lead Kingsford while Colin Bjorne paced Westwood with a 43 as freshman teammate Tyler Annala was next with 45. Iron Mountain’s Marcus Johnson carded a 46.

In the girls meet, medalist Haley Gabriel fired a 45 to lead Kingsford with 217, past Westwood, 247, and Iron Mountain, 276.

Jenna Santini’s 52 led the Mountaineers. Haley Moffitt topped the Patriots with a 57.
