GLADSTONE — The Munising boys tennis team had a strong performance Thursday as they dispatched Gladstone 7-1.

The Mustangs won three of the four singles flights and all four doubles matches. Mason Schieding (No. 1), Mitchell Coyne (No. 2) and Lucas Westcomb (No. 3) all earned two set victories for Munising.

Peter Noblet earned Gladstone’s lone win at No. 4 singles with a quick two-set victory over Munising’s Joe Holcomb 6-1, 6-0.

Over on the doubles side, three of the Mustangs victories came in an easy two sets, but Munising got a battle at the number three spot.

Gladstone’s Carter Hedman and Rane Castor dropped the first set 6-4 and entered a tie-break for the second. At 6-6, they lost a tie-break game 10-8 to lose the second set and the match 7-6 to the Mustangs’ tandem of Jesse Matson and Bailey Masters.
