REPUBLIC — Mario Marana has been named athletic director at Republic-Michigamme School, according to district superintendent and school prinicipal Kevin Luokkala.

Marana has stepped down as varsity boys basketball coach, though he may remain in basketball coaching at a different position in the district, according to Luokkala.

Marana, who will continue to be the school’s track and field coach and a teacher at the school, replaces Mary Koski, who plans to also remain as a teacher there.
