ISHPEMING — Al Quaal Recreation Area will host the Michigan High School Cross-Country Skiing Championships today and Saturday.

Today’s main event is the five-kilometer freestyle interval start at the Al Quaal’s “Schoolfield” Stadium. The girls race is set for 3 p.m. and boys at 4 p.m.

Saturday along the Teal Lake FIS competition loops will be the 5K classic pursuit at 9 a.m. for girls and 10 a.m. for boys.

At noon is the middle school 3K classic mass start.

Classic sprints qualifying begins at 2 p.m. with sprint heats at 3:30 p.m.
