IRON MOUNTAIN — Westwood won the boys meet at a high school golf triangular held at Pine Grove Country Club on Monday in Iron Mountain.

Trent Sweeney shot a 3-over par 39 to earn medalist honors and lead the Patriots to a 179 total as Kingsford totaled 188 and IM 195.

Also scoring for WHS were Colin Bjorne with 44, Cam Mason 46 and Dylan Junak 50.

Bjorne tied IM’s Sam Burgess for the second-best score of the day, while Kingsford was paced by Chase Kreski with 45.

In the girls meet, Westwood was third with 274 as Kingsford had 230 and IM 248.

The Pats’ scorers were Olivia Kierzek with 65, Bailey DeAugustine and Haley Mattila each with 67 and Cayla Ostola with 75.

Medalist was the Flivvers’ Haley Gabriel with 52, with the next-best scores, 59, turned in by teammates Alissa Kainrath and Kate Cook along with the Mountaineers’ Miranda Julian.
