Marquette Senior High School Redettes blanked twice in soccer games

KIMBERLY, Wisconsin — The Marquette Senior High School girls soccer team opened the spring sports season on Saturday with a pair of shutout losses on a windy day in Wisconsin.

MSHS fell to the No. 5-ranked team in Wisconsin, host Kimberly, 7-0, in the morning, holding the game close at 2-0 at halftime until four quick goals in the second half and another late in the game insured the hosts of their win.

In the afternoon, the Redettes trailed just 1-0 at the break before falling 3-0 to Winneconne. Marquette played into the wind the first half and ran out of gas as the game progressed into the second half.

Over both games, MSHS goalie Caitlin Palomaki was cited for strong play as was a defense led by Aurora Mlsna, Bridget Pliska and Natalie Robinia.
