Academic excellence: 73 Wildcats’ student-athletes earn GLIAC fall honors
MARQUETTE — More than six dozen Northern Michigan University student-athletes were named to the GLIAC 2016 Fall All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence teams.
The 73 honorees include 18 from cross country, 21 football player, one from men’s soccer, 22 from women’s soccer and 11 from volleyball.
The All-Academic team is reserved for students in at least their second year at their school with a 3.00 to 3.49 cumulative grade-point average, while All-Academic Excellence has identical standards for those with a 3.50 GPA and higher.
NMU had 46 on the All-Academic Excellence team, including 16 each from women’s soccer and cross country.
The league honored 1,201 student-athletes in all.
