To the Journal editor: U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, has forgotten who he works for. I’m not the only one who has noticed this. The entire country now knows our congressman won’t face us in a town hall. It’s been nearly a decade since he last held one. That’s a long time. From sunrises to sunsets to 4th of July celebrations, this amazing two-mile stretch of highway on U.S. 41/M-28 in Upper Michigan captures generations of memories for its 4,000+ residents. To the Journal editor: As a kid, I loved Scouts. I proudly wore the khaki uniform and carried the American flag at community events. I was proud that my father fought for freedom in World War II against the imperial Japanese and that my uncle fought for democracy in Europe against Hitler. In high school, I had the life-changing experience of being an exchange student and living with a family in Bangkok, Thailand. I was proud that our country supported free countries like Thailand.
