Making position known

By Dawn Rondeau 2 min read

To the Journal editor:

On Nov. 3, Karl Bohnak and Anna Aho Rink will vie for citizen's vote for the 109th seat for state representative .

Saving rural health care is one of Anna's main platform issues. Anna touts being an administrator at Planned Parenthood in Marquette for 17 years. When I challenged Anna on her role at Planned Parenthood and the fact that it was not "care" for the unborn baby, Anna stood behind her position. Indeed, she made her living from the "abortion care" industry at Planned Parenthood.

Many people are not aware that abortion is legal in Michigan (one of nine states) up until the baby's time of birth. Abortion access up until the day of a baby's birth is not rural healthcare. I believe most people find that incomprehensible and repugnant.

Below are a few of the organizations on Anna's campaign website which endorse her candidacy.

Emily"s List: the nation's largest resource dedicated to electing Democrat pro-choice women to office.

People’s Coalition: Bills itself as "A Palestinian American led, multi-faith, multi-racial movement pushing to make our party one that works on behalf of the people."

States Win Action Network: Website identifies abortion access and preventing gun violence (Second Amendment) as part of its platform.

Conservatives and Christians must not sit out this election. Churches that are deafeningly silent must speak up.

The ideals, character and value system of a candidate who is elected will shape the future of your children and your grandchildren. Do not sit this election out. The choice is clear.
