To the Journal editor:
When will American voters finally say "Enough is enough?” Are they really OK with the Trump family slurping up billions of dollars off connections to power? Bitcoin anyone? Do they truly believe that voting by mail is rife with fraud? There have been more Jan. 6 pardoned insurrectionists rearrested in the past year than fraudulent voters arrested in the past 20 years.
How long will they accept Trump's stonewalling of the release of the Epstein files as required by the law he signed? There are millions of pages still to be released and much of what has been released was redacted to the point of uselessness. If Trump were truly innocent, wouldn't those hidden files prove it?
Is another endless war on behalf of Bibi Netanyahu in the Middle East just what they were hoping for? After last year's bombing raids, Trump claimed Iran's nuclear capabilities had been "obliterated" but here we are still at war. Suggesting he'd be OK with Iran taking out two of our major cities is either treasonous or demented, take your pick.
How does cozying up to communist dictators like Putin, Xi and Kim Jong Un while insulting our friends and allies sit with the party? Canada, Europe and NATO have stood with America for generations. Russia, China and North Korea are real threats to the West.
For me, enough was enough a long time ago but obviously the GOP majority in Congress and on the US Supreme Court haven't reached that point yet. Maybe Jack Bergman or Mike Rogers would like to tell us where they stand on these issues. Rogers' campaign commercial regarding drug prices fails to note how many times he voted against bills that would have lowered those costs. Maybe someone in the so-called "liberal" media could point that out. That would be helpful before we cast our ballots. Just don't hold your breath while waiting for any Republican candidate to get crossways with the MAGA base.
If you've had enough, make sure your voter registration is up to date and show up on election day. Your vote is your voice. Don't let anyone tell you it doesn't matter. As my favorite blogger Jim Wright puts it: "If you want a better country, be a better citizen."
