The cost of the corruption in Washington is coming out of our pockets. While gas prices skyrocket, rural clinics close, food is not safe to eat, health care premiums increase, AI steals millions of jobs, and data centers increase utility bills, our tax dollars are being used for lavish parades, jets, ballrooms, huge government contracts given to relatives and friends, and the war in Iran.
Michigan has lost 12,000 manufacturing jobs in the past 18 months and the president's wealth has grown by $2.2 billion.
We need leaders who will hold corrupt people accountable and work hard to make life more affordable. I hope voters turn out en-masse to elect good leaders and that the margins of victory are "Too big to rig."
Voting early is strongly recommended. Attempts at election sabotage will be less impactful if a large percentage of the population votes before November 3rd. Also, if a legal voter's access to casting a ballot is somehow interfered with during early voting, there is time for interventive action.
If you, or anyone you know, has problems with voting or questions about voting, call this election protection hotline: 866-OUR-VOTE, or 866-687-8683.

I think corporate money in politics is the biggest reason why the system currently seems rigged against working people and getting money out of politics is the most important task for voters.
I plan to vote, YES, on Ballot Proposal 2, which prohibits gas and electric companies from donating to politicians. It also bans businesses that have yearly contracts of more than $250,000, with the state of Michigan, from donating to politicians. Lastly it stipulates that negative ads have to identify who pays for them.
Neither U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed nor Michigan State Senate District 38 candidate Kelli van Ginhoven takes corporate PAC money and they are both fighting hard to protect us from harmful data centers.
I believe the Trenary Clinic closed because of the cuts to Medicaid in the July 2024 "Big Beautiful Bill." Our U.S. District 1 representative, Jack Bergman, voted for that Medicaid-stripping bill, to give tax cuts to billionaires. I hope his opponent, Callie Barr, wins, so there will be another representative in Washington to help lower costs for Americans and to hold flagrant violators accountable for their actions.
Michigan House of Representatives District 109 candidate, Anna Aho Rink, is a health care practitioner. After her clinic was closed, she decided to run for office and fight for Yoopers, in particular for rural access to health care, including reproductive health care for women.
I appreciate that voters in the 11th Circuit Court have the opportunity to retain Judge Brian Rahilly. He is experienced, fair, qualified, and honest.
