Early in his political career, Mr. Trump remarked that he could “shoot” someone in the middle of Times Square and get away with it. It sounded ridiculously self-aggrandizing and absurd then. Today, I’m not sure! Since that crazy observation, Mr. Trump has had plenty of opportunity to test that calculation in so many ways that one must wonder if he wasn’t right!

Mr. Trump, while not with gun in hand but with presidential fiat, has been responsible for many deaths, not the least egregious of which are extra-judicial killings on the high seas. He has presided over deadly violence in Venezuela and Iran. Some hold him immediately responsible for thousands of deaths as the result of mishandling the government’s early response to the COVID-19 pandemic. And, while not as easily calculated but deadly all the same, some say his “Big Beautiful Bill” which defunds some basic health expenses for millions of Americans, will result in the unnecessary deaths of thousands.

As if all this carnage is not enough to question this man’s ethics, morality, decency and capacity to lead, his most recent iteration of hubris, a full color posting on his Truth Social account- should, shouldn’t it?
