He works for us

To the Journal editor:

To the president of the United States:

(Now that it’s) 2026, I have a request and a reminder for what I hope will be a goal for you and your administration in 2026.

A small background: I am a 70-year-old RN and a lifelong Democrat.

I acknowledge and support the right and the necessity of people in this country, who have different opinions to have civil discourse and be able to work together for the betterment of this country.

My request for you, Mr. President is to eliminate the coarse, juvenile and immature language you use when talking to or describing people that you do not like or disagree with. Most people in this country and the world are collectively appalled at some of your words. The office you hold requires a leader who, when talking, offers words of inspiration, solace and a willingness to hear all people.

The first sentence of the U.S. Constitution remains as relevant today as the day it was written:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

And finally, a reminder Mr. President: You work for me and all Americans.

We expect you to always conduct yourself in a manner that supports the expectations and dignity of that important office.

Fellow Americans and the world are watching and we expect more from you in 2026.
