To the Journal editor:

Here is perhaps a more appropriate, non-divisive, non-violence inciting resolution for the Houghton County Board of Commissioners, and perhaps all government officials, agencies and bureaus to make:

Whereas the natural, perhaps god-created, biological human reproduction processes pass chromosomes and genes of 2 human beings on to each offspring

Whereas the chromosome(s) each embryonic human receives may be one of, or a combination of, 2 or more X-chromosomes and/or Y-chromosomes resulting in more than 2 types of biologically sexed individuals

Whereas the idea that all “men” have only X-Y and all “women” have only X-X chromosomes is a scientifically and biologically incorrect belief of imperfect, biased human adults

Whereas members of the biological majority group of Cisgender X-X women and X-Y men, in particular including those Cisgender X-Y men with masculinity issues, do not have the right to ostracize, outlaw, post-birth abort, incite violence against, or murder those who are not Cisgender.

Whereas the outdated biased idea that in sporting activities, human individuals must only be classified into the biased 2-sex system should be replaced by classification based on physical strength and prowess of each individual for a more accurate competitive pairing of individuals for one-on-one sports and competitive grouping of individuals into teams for team sports.

Whereas public showers, bathrooms and changing rooms can retrofitted to increase the perception of personal privacy and safety

Whereas these chromosomes and the genes they include may affect/determine the sexual orientation, attraction and sexual organ features of a human being

Whereas no child can choose its parents, its chromosomes, its genes, or the belief system it is born into

Whereas religious sexual “conversion therapy” has been proven to psychologically destroy the humans forced to endure it

Whereas some adolescent children will realize that they do not fit into a biased socially/religiously acceptable sex category assigned to them by society and therefore desire a change in clothing, behavior, physical appearance

Whereas all children are gifts equally deserving of the full inalienable rights, protections and unconditional love regardless of their biological sex and sexual orientation, as God and nature intended

It is therefore resolved that this governmental entity recognizes and fully supports the inalienable rights of all human beings of all biological sexes and sexual orientations and strongly encourages the parents to love and accept their children unconditionally.
