Effort a success
To The Journal editor:
On May 11, the NALC Branch #95 hosted a food drive throughout the Marquette area.
On behalf of the Marquette Post Office and branch #95, we would like to thank the residents of Marquette for their generous donations of non-perishable goods.
We collected a total of 7,700 pounds. Those donations supported the pantries for the following Marquette organizations: Janzen House, Room at the Inn Warming Center, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul and the Women’s Center/Harbor House.
We would also like to thank those who volunteered their time to assist our letter carriers. Thank you to the U.P. Construction Council and Marquette United Way for these volunteers.
Jimmy Johns of Marquette provided a donation of sandwiches for our postal workers and volunteers.
A big thank you to them. Branch #95 looks forward to continuing our Stamp Out Hunger campaign next year!
