Dangerous driving cited

To the Journal editor:

I recently went out to retrieve my trash and recycle bins, only to find them knocked over violently. Thinking it was the wind, I was informed by a neighbor that a young woman, driving about 35 mph while talking on her cellphone, drove up over the curb onto my yard and plowed through both bins.

The kind neighbor tried to get the license plate number, but the perpetrator sped off at about 40 mph.

I would like to reach out to this person and let you know people like you are the reason there is a law against using a phone while driving. Your complete disregard for safety could have resulted in someone’s death. I’m just glad I wasn’t there at the wrong time.

If anyone needs to use or answer a cellphone the only safe thing to do is to pull over and park you car, if not for your own safety, then for others.

Starting at $3.23/week.
