Changing times
To The Journal editor:
We are coming into the summer season. It’s time to get outdoors and see the beauty we still have in our Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
With climate change coming, most say it’s not going to be better. More storms, hotter days and our air and water may get worse. Being a resident most of my life in Marquette, what a change already.
More and more buildings, less trees and areas that were nice to seek the peace and quiet of nature. As we all know, our wold seems to be going the wrong way.
No getting along with each other, wars going on and many without food and shelter. I remember the days in Marquette, the wooded areas and streams you could fish in. It’s all gone. Buildings all over.
So I’m still able to get out of town and lucky not too far away is still some peaceful areas with forests and clean rivers plus no traffic and places to walk and not worry about cars, etc — not only speeding but even the noise.
So time will tell, but in my sight it’s a big change. Not postive. And with the tech stuff we may not have human connection but robots.
Enjoy this time now and try to spend time with family and friends in person. Happy days.
