Parade info here

To the Journal editor:

The Kiwanis Club of Marquette proudly announces that this is the 29th year it has hosted the Marquette July 4th Parade that will start as before at 2 p.m. on July 4th at McClelland Avenue and West Washington Street.

The 2024 parade is special as it celebrates the city of Marquette’s 175th anniversary, so expect to see a special float with all 8 living mayors of Marquette.

And this parade also celebrates NMU’s 125th anniversary, so expect to see Wildcat Willy and his crew.

To participate in the parade, please click the following link and fill out the online form: https://bit.ly/2024float. That’s it–no more paper applications and checks.

If the link won’t open just press your “control” button first.

To encourage youth participation, eight grants of $150 to defray float costs will be given to youth groups, such as sports, dance and theater. Contact Pam Simmons.

Certain agencies, such as fire departments, are exempt from paying a fee and we will send an exempt code for them to use to fill out the online application.

Also, there will be an accessible viewing space and parking on W. Washington set up exclusively for persons with limited mobility, including veterans and others with disabilities.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available at: https://bit.ly/2024ParadeSponsor

You can nominate a special person as Parade Marshall at: https://bit.ly/ParadeMarshall.
