Roundabout badly needed
To the Journal editor:
I just read “Marquette City Police reminds drivers to slow down in the winter,” The Mining Journal, Oct. 31, page 15A.
Very safe and excellent advice.
The article also pointed out extensively the merits of roundabouts, their safety records while reducing speed.
As soon as I read it, my thoughts went to the intersection of Marquette County roads 480 and 553.
Presently, it is a four-way stop and traffic is backed up in all directions daily at all rush hours.
Hands down, that intersection is the most needy of a roundabout in the county, maybe the state. What’s the hold up?
Please, someone, anyone with authority get the ball rolling to put a roundabout at Marquette County roads 480 and 553 corners now.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
