Giving thanks

To the Journal editor:

We are now into the month of November. Soon comes the snow, a change in seasons, colder temperatures, longer nights.

But also, it’s later in the month, we celebrate one of our major holidays: Thanksgiving. Time to think about being thankful.

It’s a day long ago when those who came to have freedom and a new life — a better place to live. Back then, it was the so-called little things to give thanks, some food on the table, a home to live in and family was very important.

Help one another and be thankful to the Lord to take time and to realize many of the blessings provided and love each other. Help those in need.

In our troubled world today, seems we have not cared and respected others as we should. In other words, work together for the good of us all.

So for me, thanks to the Lord. I try to remember the real meaning of Thanksgiving Day, just as the day says be thankful not only one day but each day give thanks for many blessings we have in our United States of America. Freedom, peace, love for each other. Many in our world today do not have that.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and God bless the U.S.
