To the Journal editor:

I had the pleasure of dining at the Delft (recently). Not only did I enjoy the fabulous food and great service, but it also got me thinking about the owner, Jen Ray.

She and her husband have invested in downtown, preserving historic buildings and creating businesses. The wedding and birthday announcements on the landmark Delft marquee make our town feel personal and friendly for both residents and visitors.

Who doesn’t love stopping at Donckers for a bite of chocolate, or a satisfying breakfast?

Jen Ray’s creativity, hard work and devotion to Marquette goes beyond downtown revitalization. Her businesses also donate to many nonprofit organizations in our community.

She is a bright, energetic and caring role model for our grandchildren and all children in Marquette.
