Hunger battled

To the Journal editor:

On Saturday, May 13, the NALC Branch #95 and the Marquette Post Office participated in the “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.

Our annual food drive brought in 10,000 pounds of non-perishable goods this year.We would like to thank the Marquette community for their generosity. The following organizations benefited from your donations: Harbor House Women’s Shelter; Janzen House Men’s Shelter; Room at the Inn Warming Center; Salvation Army of Marquette; and St. Vincent de Paul of Marquette.

We would also like to thank the following businesses for their donation of grocery bags used during the collection: Lofaro’s Marketplace; Meijer; Super One Foods; and Tadych’s Marketplace.

And finally, a special thank you to those businesses that hosted a specific food collection just for this event: Graveraet Elementary; Maurices; Messiah Lutheran Church; and Sandy Knoll Elementary.

Sincerely,

ANGIE LEDUC

Marquette Post Office
