Successful sale

To the Journal editor:

The Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops in the Pere Marquette Zone recently completed another successful popcorn sale.

They would like to thank the many members of the community who supported them by purchasing popcorn. The funds raised go to support the activities of the local units as well as the programs and facilities of the Bay Lakes Council, including Camp Hiawatha.

Special thanks goes to Advanced Auto Parts in Marquette for allowing the use of its building as the distribution point and warehouse for the sale. Their employee and volunteer Scouter, Chuck Suckow, was of great service to the sale.

Also, the following businesses were very helpful by allowing units to sell on their premises: Super One Foods in Marquette, Snyder Drug Store in Harvey, Tadych’s Marketplace Foods, Lowes Home Improvement, Wal-Mart Supercenter, Skandia Farmer’s Market, Holiday Stationstores in Harvey, Lafaro’s Fresh Market, Tractor Supply Company, Snyder Drug Store in Negaunee, Super One Foods in Negaunee, Crossroads Mini-mart and Blackrocks Brewery.
