Rep called out for vote

To the Journal editor:

Jack Bergman opposes broadband funding, then takes credit for $2 billion in an awkward TV ad.

Just saw his TV ad and that he is binging broadband to the Upper Peninsula by voting for it. For six years, Jack Bergman promised northern Michigan and the U.P. he would work to expand broadband services to our rural communities. Over half a decade later, still nothing. In fact, he continually votes against it.

Fact: Bergman voted against the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

The Infrastructure and Jobs Ace allocated $2 billion funding to the USDA’s rural utilities service. This law requires 80% of the monies to be spent on rural areas without current high speed access. Voters need to reject Jack Bergman’s dishonesty at the polls.

We need an honest representative with dignity and integrity.

It’s time for principled leadership in Northern Michigan and the U.P.

Starting at $3.23/week.
