Questions Jack Bergman’s actions
To the Journal editor:
As we vote in this midterm election, I hope people remember that our current U.S. House representative, Jack Bergman, signed onto a 2020 lawsuit filed against the State of Michigan as well as Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The lawsuit was intended to overturn the 2020 election votes of the citizens he represents, as well as the votes in other states where Donald Trump lost.
A few weeks later on Jan. 6, 2021, Mr. Bergman had to flee the insurrectionists who took over the House chambers. Nevertheless, several hours later, Mr. Bergman returned and attempted to disrupt the peaceful transition of the presidency himself, when he voted in the House to exclude Arizona and Pennsylvania from the 2020 presidential election results.
These are not the actions of someone who cares about democracy. Do we really want to send him back to Washington? I sure don’t.
