To the many generous community volunteers, there are many wonderful things about living in a small town: everyone knows their neighbors, the people are friendly and helpful and when it comes to celebrations, well, small towns do it best.

This year’s 4-day Michigamme Township Sesquicentennial Celebration was a testimonial to the commitment from our volunteers to ensure that this event was a huge success.

The volunteers gave generously of their time and talents and despite the bouts of rain, they followed through with the plans so all of us could celebrate our 150th birthday here in Michigamme!

It is with much gratitude and appreciation that on behalf of the Michigamme Township Board, I thank each of you for your dedication and service to our community.
