Support appreciated

To the Journal editor:

The Marquette Community demonstrated its generosity and solidarity by coming together to support our family at the Dr. Cate Edgell Memorial Scholarship Dinner. Held at the Masonic Temple, the guests, volunteer team, and donors helped us raise over $7,000 to contribute to this endowment.

We would like to thank the following area businesses and individuals for their contributions: Kate’s Place, New Age Tattoo, artists Kay Johnson, JoAnn Shelby, Vicki Londerville, Michele Tuccini, Jen Luoma, Hillary Dragon, Ronna Katz, Patrick Dragon, Morgan Ross, Susan Grant, Joe Graci, Blair Vaughn-Gruler, and Barry Bernstein, Ryan from 906 & Company, Whitney Ollila (Whitney’s Bloody Mary Mix), Starbucks, Green Bay Packers, New Attitudes, Oxeye Photo, Phil’s 550, Queen City Running, Casa Calabria, Alluma Yoga, Michigan Made, Marquette Nutrition, Bodega, Marla Debolt, Nheena Ittner, Lynn Moon, Sheri Johnson, Russell Magnaghi, Diane Kordich and Christine and Jon Saari. We would also like to thank Ryan Engle at MATI and Nick at Sidecar Productions for their superb help. Thanks also to our table decorators Diane Mahoney, Mary St. Clair, Molly Noriko Hurley, Jane Milkie and Christine Saari. The event was beautiful from the exquisite food to the lovely venue and music by Gretchen McKenzie and Luke Arquette.

We live in an extraordinary community and are grateful to all that helped, especially our team of volunteer chefs, servers, and auction crew. Your willingness to help us honor Cate is deeply appreciated.
