Workers’ justice defined for all

Workers’ justice

defined for all

To the Journal editor:

As part of observing Labor Day that honors our workers for their many and varied contributions to our American society, We the People define, justify and apply justice to declare just rights for all workers.

What is justice? Justice is revealed in our history when We progressed from justice for few to justice for all.

When We approved our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, We used our foundational belief in individualism to create our minimalist federal government that created justice for our few wealthy white men.

In our history We progressed through our many revolutionary progressive rights movements when We used scientific methodological justice and all rights for all ethical justice to create our activist national government that created and progresses justice for all.

Our revolutionary progressive rights movements include New Deal rights movements (worker rights), civil rights movements, environmental rights movements, and feminist rights movements.

Scientific methodological justice uses scientific evidence-based research and theory to justify our theory of historical progression and to describe present conditions.

All rights for all ethical justice evaluates our progression and conditions and constructs laws to progress justice for all.

Workers includes workers, retired workers, unemployed workers, disabled workers, and students, and also workers in all genders/sexes and races.

Applying justice for all, We declare just rights for all workers.

Economic rights include:

1. Funds to progress justice for all by raising our income tax rates rates for millionaires and billionaires from 37% to 50%, and eliminating tax evasion, loopholes, and unjust itemized deductions.

2. A $400 monthly Universal Basic Income for All (Social Security for All) to reduce income inequality, reduce poverty and minimize bureaucracy.

3. A national minimum hourly wage of $15, up from the present $7.25.

4. A job for all: regional and national unemployment above 4.5% requires government stimuli.

5. Women receiving equal pay for equal or similar work.

Educational rights include lifelong tax-financed and government-run tuition-free education and training.

Environmental rights include healthy and safe workplace and general environments.

Health care rights include lifelong tax-financed and government-run dental, hearing, medical, and vision care, and also child and elder care.

As part of observing Labor Day, We the People declare:

Just rights for all workers! Justice for all!
