To the Journal editor:
I recently saw photos online of the beautiful new “brick” sidewalks in downtown Marquette and I couldn’t help but think of taking it one step further.
Imagine if West Washington Street between Front and Third streets was closed to vehicles permanently and turned into an amazing pedestrian plaza.
Cities around the country are reimagining public space after the pandemic and Marquette could do the same.
After all, cities are built for people, not cars.
