To the Journal editor:

U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, you are on record as not believing the electoral college vote for President-Elect Biden (no matter how you try to walk that back) and you are on record for not impeaching President Trump for inciting a coup (it was not just a “riot” as your statement Jan. 13 indicated, it was a coup attempt — and you know this).

A sitting president incites a coup to stop his successor from legally taking office and you actually defended that with a straight face.

Coupled with your questioning of the electoral college, this loyalty makes perfect sense. Had the coup worked, you probably would have sent out a similar press release as the one on Jan. 13, telling us the same thing, to work together and move forward.

What country’s constitution did you swear to uphold? You do not deserve to hold office.
