Helping to help others

To the Journal editor:

The Negaunee St. Vincent de Paul food bank would like to thank the many organizations and individuals for their generous donations used in the preparation and distribution of Christmas baskets for families in the Negaunee and Palmer areas. We could not have done this without your assistance.

O’Reilly Auto Parts; Lions Club; Fraternal Order Eagles Ladies; United Steel Workers Local #4950; Marquette County Steelworkers Coalition Marquette Range Steelworkers Retirees; Eastwood Apostolic Lutheran Church; Schmidt Community Fund; Immanuel Lutheran Church Women; Bethany Lutheran Church; Jilbert Dairy; Negaunee Lady Elks; Midtown Bakery & Cafe; and Irontown Pasties.

We would also like to thank all the other organizations and individuals who generously donated food, gifts, funding, time and talent to making another meaningful Christmas to 131 people in need which included 56 families and 37 children from the Negaunee and Palmer areas.

This year was a difficult time for us all and we could not have accomplished this mission without your assistance.

Sincerely,
