Letter off base

To the Journal editor:

This is in response to Gary Ruhinen’s recent letter.

He was in support of U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, signing onto a Texas lawsuit challenging the results of the recent presidential election, which, if successful would have overturned votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and the votes of 2.8 million Michiganders.

Mr. Ruhinen urges us to wait to see the evidence and admit if we are proven wrong. Unpatriotic Republicans have filed 61 challenges to the election results, and the courts, including one case in the U.S. Supreme Court, have turned back 60 of them.

The writer of the letter also says he doesn’t trust the vote results in Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Phoenix, or Baltimore. Why are those cities singled out for scrutiny? … Well, if votes for Democrats in Detroit and all of Michigan had been overturned, that would have also included my legally-cast vote and I’m from the Upper Peninsula.

The evidence is in; the many attempts to steal the most secure election in American history have failed miserably. Mr. Ruhinen, are you ready to admit you were wrong?

Editor’s note: Mr. Towner’s name was mistakenly tagged on a letter than ran on page 5A Saturday.
