Those were the days
To the Journal editor:
What a shame the annual All-Star Football Game was canceled because of the COVID-19. No fault of the committee. They are doing the right thing.
My feelings go out to all those players who have been selected to play in this great game. What a shame. I had the opportunity to play in the All-Star game back in 1951. The game was played in Negaunee.
I remember the place was packed. It was a great week with players from all over the Upper Peninsula. Buck Nystrom was on our North Team as was Bob Redmen and a lot of other guys.
We lost, 7-6, in what must of been a real defensive contest. It was fun and a great experience.
Let’s hope the game resumes next year.
Go Mustangs!
